First Responder Network Authority (FirstNet) Is A Must

Due to communication challenges during the response to the 9/11 terrorist attacks, the 9/11 Commission recommended the establishment of a single, interoperable network for public safety. For years, public safety organizations lobbied Congress to make this recommendation a reality. Therefore, when Congress established the First Responder Network Authority (FirstNet) in 2012, it based its mission on public safety’s concerns and desires. The FirstNet network provides unique value exclusively for public safety users.

FirstNet grew from a recommendation made by the 9/11 Commission into a vision championed by public safety for years. That vision was advanced by Congress and carried out by the First Responder Network Authority. Now, with all 50 states, 5 territories and D.C. on board, it’s become a reality. That reality brings public safety their own nationwide, dedicated communications platform to help them save lives and protect communities. And with it, a dedicated brand just for first responders.

By joining forces with AT&T, together they will build, deploy and maintain the first-ever nationwide public safety broadband network for America’s first responders. To drive the successful adoption of FirstNet, AT&T launched a brand expressly designed for FirstNet products and services. Having a specialized brand and logo will help public safety identify the FirstNet solution and lifesaving technologies the network offers first responders across our nation.

Two Way Direct works directly with AT&T to provide territories with this network. We are a huge supporter in helping others during an emergency and are proud to be a provider of such a system. Give us a call at 888-742-5893 to find out more about how this network can be set up where you are.
